The Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali is now Pakistan's 24th Chief Justice. Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has become the 24th Chief Justice of Pakistan after taking oath at a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr Islamabad on Thursday.
President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to the new Chief Justice while ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chairman Joint of Staff Committee, three services Chiefs as well as diplomats of various countries apart from judges of apex court, provincial Governors and federal ministers. Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali succeeds the departing CJP Justice S Khawaja who got retired on Wednesday from his 23 days services as the CJP.
Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali was born on December 31st, 1951 in Hyderabad, Sindh. After completing his Bachelors in Commerce and in Law from Sindh University in the years 1971 and 1973 respectively. He was enrolled at Sindh Bar Council as an Advocate of Lower Court on January 10, 1975; however, considered and enrolled as an Advocate of High Court on November 13, 1977.
